Registrare web radio - Streamtuner - OpenSUSE 11.4

ciao a tutti...
Sabato, una mia carissima amica partecipa ad una trasmissione radio (si tratta di una webradio: http://www.bmradio.it/)...
Vorrei registrare tutto il suo intervento!
Cercando un po' su internet, ho trovato molte volte il nome di "Streamtuner"...
L'ho installato (da Yast) e ho provato ad aprire il file ".pls" che ho scaricato dal sito della radio...
Ho cercato di aprirlo con streamtuner ma, mi dice:

Failed to execute child process "xmms" (no such file or directory).

ho pensato che non ci fosse quel pacchetto ed allora ho scaricato, sempre da Yast, il pacchetto "xmms2" (con le dipendenze, ovviamente)...
Ma non me lo avvia lo stesso!!
Se da terminale do:

xmss

non ottengo nulla... dice che il domando non esiste... e la cosa mi preoccupa perchè nelle preferenze di Streamtuner noto che il comando che esegue è:

xmms %q

come posso fare??? oppure: mi suggerite un metodo migliore (magari più semplice)?????

Io userei mplayer con -dumpstream

mplayer -dumpstream http://91.121.121.15:8008/listen.pls

Nella cartella dove esegui il comando ti crea stream.dump (che e' un mp3 in realta', a fine procedimento rinominalo in .mp3)

mmmm aggiungo qualche dettaglio che deriva da una prova molto semplice che ho fatto solo dopo aver postato
ho modificato il comando che il programma esegue in:

xmms2 %q

adesso, non mi restituisce più l'errore, ma comunque non lo riproduce e se provo a registrare, mi esce una finestra simile a quella del terminale:
streamtuner..jpeg
ma nella cartella che ho destinato per le registrazioni, non c'è nulla...
il comando che il programma da è:

xterm -e streamripper %q

(ho tutti i pacchetti citati)

Comunque già scrivendo xmm e premendo il tasto tab vedi se te lo autocompleta come xmms o xmms2.

A parte questo, gli errori che ti dà indicano problemi con delle icone.

Segui il suggerimento di Sonic. Con Mplayer dovresti riuscire a registrare senza problemi. ;-)

Il file che produco, lo rinomino in .mp3 ma me lo apre solo con Amarok... Con VLC è muto... Sbaglio io qualcosa o non vanno d'accordo????

Controlla il volume di VLC a sto punto.
Io ho provato a salvare ora un pezzettino e lo ascolto da riga di comando con mpg321 e lo ascolto tranquillamente anche con xmms.
Non ho vlc installato ma... non credo sia il tipo di file il problema.

O forse VLC fa lo schizzinoso, dumpstream scrive lo stream esattamente come arriva, la radio e' compressa in mp3 quindi salva in mp3, l'unico problema e' che (credo) manchino gli header iniziali di un classico mp3...se proprio vuoi ottenere un file perfetto credo tu debba riconvertirlo nuovamente in mp3.

./stream.dump. Utile quando si codifica / copia ('rippa') da
DVD oppure via rete.

e in particolare nel caso di audio ci si puo' riferire a:

Non essendo riproducibili gli altri formati credo sia proprio per quel che dicevo sopra.
